In general I am interested in surfaces, the outer look of materials and how it effects our perception and I use scale, perspective and materiality as tools to manipulate it. I often work with material imitations or optical illusions and techniques with which I recreate organic looking textures. My work relates also to stage and set design, since I like to play with the outer appearance of objects and the backside/ inside view.
Lately elements and techniques from architecture specially inspired me. The combination of materials and the shapes that are based on functionality as well as the moment when it merges together with its natural surrounding. For example, combination of urban waste merging with nature elements. The interaction of human build structures with nature in our surrounding is a complex and fascinating source for my work.
I am engaged with the relationship and the way different creatures share this planet and I like to communicate these kinds of thoughts in a subtle and humorous way.
