While in residence at quartier21 I will be developing a programme of exhibitions and events at Artistic Bokeh exploring the role of technology and the ethics in representing posthumanity in the Anthropocene.
I will be examining curatorial histories and practices of classifying and representing the Earth and its human inhabitants, and considering how the mapping and representation of knowledge is changing as the boundaries between humans, the planet, and technology increasingly blur. This research will be conducted through a practice of curating, organising, writing, and editing, incorporating material and immaterial artefacts, artworks, and texts.
In the process I will familiarise myself with galleries, institutions, curators, and artists working in Vienna with an eye to developing future projects in Austria and abroad.
This project was assisted by a grant from Arts NSW, an agency of the New South Wales Government and supported by the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy, an initiative of the Australian State and Territory Governments. The program is administered by the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA).
