November 2003 - November 2003Project proposal
1. Contemporary young Austrian art:research + exhibition project
- Research focused on the most innovative and experimental forms of young Austrian art. Comparison of the situations in Austria and Slovakia.
- Exhibition /result of the research/ will be realized in Gallery Priestor for Contemporary Arts in Bratislava in 2004. The main goal of the exhibition will be the presentation of the most contributive and innovative projects and establishing of the communication between young artists from Austria and Slovakia.
Detailed description:
Although communication between Vienna and Bratislava has been developing since 1989, it cannot be stated that the process of opening and getting closer comes to its successful end. Even though several valuable and progressive attempts to overcome communication barriers have taken place, there is still a lack of open communication between artists and culture institutions from Slovakia and Austria. This project therefore aims not only at carrying out detailed research and comparison of the two art scenes, but also at establishing a platform for open communication with the youngest art generation. This would lead to realization of a common project, contributing to the long-term reduction of the culture and communication barriers.

Date of the exhibition: June 2004
Duration of the exhibition: 1,5 month
