Vordemberge-Gildewart Award 2022

The Vordemberge-Gildewart Foundation awards an annual grant to support an independent visual artist or art writer aged 35 or under living in Europe. The foundation was established in Switzerland in 1981 according to the last will and testament of Ilse Engelina Vordemberge, née Leda, widow of the artist Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart. The foundation's mission is to preserve the artistic work Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart and to promote young artists in his spirit. Artists and art writers are invited to take part in the competition each year in cooperation with renowned institutions throughout Europe. Since 1983, the foundation has awarded 37 grants. The nominees for this year's award will present their works at mumok.
