TQW DOC+ 2024/25

Fr 24.01. & Fr 14.03., 17h, TQW Bibliothek

TQW DOC+ is a monthly interdisciplinary, inter-university forum for theorists on topics concerned with choreography, performance, body, art and politics at Tanzquartier Wien.

A meeting place for PhD and master’s students, theorists who want to distinguish themselves in the field, newcomers and thinkers interested in discursive exchange (with or without a degree). After reading a text together, there will be an opportunity for open debate. In addition, one’s research work can be presented and put up for debate, or new formats can be tested in a safe space. For more information, please contact bibliothek@tqw.at.

Programme:

Fri 24.01.:

Isolde Charim: Lebensmodell Diaspora. Über moderne Nomaden

Iris Julian: Art Traditions in Scenes of Love and Desire (lecture in German)
The research project, funded by the City of Vienna and to be published by Routledge (London) in 2025, combines art history, visual culture studies and theatre studies into an interdisciplinary methodological framework. It examines contemporary performances in dance and the visual arts that deal with love and sexuality. The connecting link between the scenic representations is the re-enactment of visual art from the Western art canon.

Fri 14.03.:

Robert Stam, Ella Shohat: Race in Translation. Culture Wars around the Postcolonial Atlantic
