What is man in fundamental or gradual difference to the animal? Theses on this can already be found in Aristotle, Descartes and Kant - as well as in the exhibition discussion between philosopher Sonja Dörfel and art mediator Patrick Puls on the basis of selected artworks from the current exhibition "The animal in you". The symbolic function of the animal as a surface of demarcation and projection will be discussed as well as the location of man in nature and the man-animal relationship in the context of colonial and structural exercise of power.
