every Thu, 18h

Every Thursday from 18h, the Melon Hall invites you to play the Italian card game Scopa, accompanied by watermelon and Negroni Sbagliato, prepared with homemade vermouth in cooperation with the organic winery Göbel from Vienna and L'Aperitivo by Nonino.

Vermouth is a wine flavoured and infused with herbs and spices, which owes its name to the bitter and flavour-defining wormwood herb. It can be enjoyed on its own or used in a wide variety of drinks.
Four years ago, friends Leonie, Frido and Pauli produced their own vermouth for the first time. Inspired by their love of nature and its gifts, they tried to preserve summer in the form of flowers, fruits and wild herbs and capture it in a glass. This was followed by an autumn, winter and blossom vermouth, all of which reflected the respective season and opened up diverse worlds of flavour.
For the Melon Hall, they began to roam the meadows and forests of Stammersdorf again at the beginning of June 2024 and collected a total of 54 different wild herbs and fruits. These flavour a wonderful natural wine from the Göbel organic winery in Stammersdorf to create the essential ingredient for an outstanding Negroni.
This classic Italian cocktail has gained a large following in recent years. The original consists of vermouth, gin and Campari. A lighter, more refreshing version with Prosecco instead of gin is the Negroni Sbagliato (fake Negroni). The Melon Hall offers a different version with homemade vermouth, Prosecco and "L'Aperitivo" from the Nonino family business in Friuli. This delicious botanical, which has been voted aperitif of the year several times
of the year, complements the Negroni Sbagliato wonderfully with its fresh, floral flavour. Strictly speaking, it is therefore a "fake" Negroni Sbagliato.
