The duo show of Rene Matić (b. 1997, Peterborough, UK) and Oscar Murillo (b. 1986, La Paila, Colombia) premieres new and existing works by both artists, woven into a suspended architecture of black canvases by Murillo. Using linen saturated in black paint, these suspended canvases allow for moments of intimacy amongst both artists’ work. Matić’s new film and photographic works are based on the artist’s research into Josephine Baker’s infamous arrival in the city of Vienna in the late 1920s. Murillo presents new paintings stemming from his decade-long project, "Frequencies", and works on paper created by the artist whilst on planes.

Together, both artists explore identity constructs and the creation and dissemination of culture through deconstruction and dialogue.
