Exhibition: NIKIMA JAGUDAJEV "BASICALLY"

Nikima Jagudajev's ongoing live project entitled "Basically" utilises an exhibition format that is simultaneously a hybrid production space, a residency and a schoolyard - an environment in which things can be tried out and performed. Jagudajev's process-based and collaborative practice is dedicated to forms of the social - social relations as spatial relations and the question of how it is possible to come together in a meaningful way. Jagudajev calls this approach "re-schooling", referring to the playful way in which students subvert the educational system. Some of the most creative and intense activities of our early education and upbringing - such as self-organised play, gossiping, flirting, passing on letters - were not on the curriculum but were an integral part of the institution.
