How can we, as Ann Cvetkovich writes, "depathologize negative affects so that they can be seen as a possible resource for political action rather than its antithesis"? Based on various texts by Mark Fisher, Lynne Segal, Franco Berardi and Ann Cvetkovich, among others, which we will read and discuss together, as well as through somatic exercises and writing sessions, "negative" emotions should not be understood in this workshop as an individual, self-inflicted deficit but as a collective expression of objection and protest – to allow us to contextualise our own experiences in a broader and political discourse on vulnerability and privilege.
