During her residency at MQ, Julieta Barrios wants to identify the plant species in Vienna, especially the endemic ones. She plans to create a series of works using different techniques that emphasise the most important characteristics and functions of these species.
On daily walks, one encounters a wide variety of plant species that one does not consciously recognise. Through her work, the artist aims to awaken the viewer's interest in learning more about their natural environment, to build a relationship and connect with it. By promoting this awareness, the aim is to strengthen mindfulness, respect and also the desire to protect nature.
