The interactive video installation with multi-channel sound "PASSAGE2" poses the question: what is the connection between an oil drum and an airport conveyor belt? Both serve technologies and habits that are firmly rooted in our daily routines and thus contribute to the rapidly advancing climate change. In a joint conversation, Verena Tscherner and Wolfgang Fiel want to discuss the topic of climate care and pose the question: can interaction with the installation "PASSAGE2", which can be seen in parallel in the TONSPUR_passage, question our role on this planet in critical times like these?
The artist talk will be framed by the sound performance "PASSAGE2 LIVE" by Verena Tscherner feat. Maria Salamon.
Verena Tscherner will be working with sound samples from the industrial sector, while Maria Salamon will be imitating natural sounds with her effects, thus establishing a counterpoint to the industrial sounds of Verena Tscherner. Together, the two performers will embark on an indefinite sound journey, which will be given an additional dimension through the use of voice and selected texts.
