Performance: ÜBER PIRATINNEN

Tue 18.03., 18h, Wed 19. & Thu 20.03., 10h, for children and teenagers between 10 and 15 years, circus

Cooking on the stove? Do what they say? Not with these women! They defy traditional role models and successfully assert themselves in a male domain: whether it's Zheng Yisao, who commanded a pirate fleet of over 200 ships in China in the 18th century and negotiated numerous treaties with the rulers, or Carola Rackete, who rescued 53 people seeking protection from distress at sea - they are all united by the sea, resistance and breaking with convention.

This story is about them and their sisters from the sea. They defy prejudices, norms and restrictive living conditions. Their lives are a personal commitment to independence. As role models, they convey strength - a quality that women were often denied in the past. They are proof that the myth of the inferior woman is no longer tenable: "Pirate women, the sea is ours!"

In German.
