Talkshow: Femi(ni)zide Politisieren

Femicides must not go unanswered:

Together with the Frauen*perkussionsgruppe Maracatu Nossa Luz, we will rehearse and perform against violence against FLINTA people. This will be followed by a book presentation of "Femi(ni)zide. Collective against patriarchal violence" by the author collective Biwi Kefempom. The evening is organised by Biwi Kefempom and the group Alerta Feminista Austria. Both groups are part of the feminist alliance Claim the Space.

Politicising the continuum of patriarchal violence means publicly denouncing all those systems and structures that enable or facilitate violence against FLINTA people (women, lesbians, inter-, non-binary, trans and agender people). One of the most extreme forms of this is femi(ni)cide, i.e. the murder of female, feminised and dissident bodies. Various groups and individuals in Vienna and worldwide have set themselves the task of reacting to femi(ni)cide and not leaving it unanswered. The politicisation strategies range from the conceptualisation and understanding of this complex phenomenon to the development of joint intervention strategies for the occupation of public space. Both levels of these feminist struggles will be linked in this event in three blocks.
