For generations, the beetles of the Sumsemann family have been born with only five legs, because the sixth leg of their ancestor was lost on the moon. Together with the children Peter and Anneliese, the violin-playing beetle sets off to get the leg back. They visit the Night Fairy and meet the Thunder Man, the Lightning Witch, the Cloud Woman, and Father Christmas, until the trio finally lands on the moon…
