The incredible success of Oskar Haag, born in 2005, began with his performance at the Vienna Popfest, where he wowed the audience and the Austrian alternative scene as a 15-year-old with just his guitar and voice. He had already gained stage experience in dance and theater before he started making music during the lockdown in 2020.
His career took off after Popfest: he founded his own label and landed an indie hit with his first single “Stargazing”. The song went straight to the top of the FM4 charts, and his other singles also reached the highest chart positions - a national first. His first acclaimed solo concerts and festival appearances followed in 2021, further increasing his fan base.
In 2023, Haag released his debut album “Teenage Lullabies”, which reached number 6 in the Austrian album charts and received great media attention. He became the youngest ever winner of the Amadeus Awards and toured Germany with Birdy. His new single “Sharpen the Knives” and a major tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland are in the pipeline.
In addition to music, he also devotes himself to acting: since October 2023, he has appeared in a Shakespeare production at the Burgtheater and played his first major film role as the young Arnulf Rainer. He has also been nominated for two Nestroy Awards.
