MQ Pride Night: Take Up Space
Wed 14.06., 19h l MQ Summer Stage, Main Courtyard l free admission
Let's take up the Space. Let's take over the Stage.
On the occasion of the international Pride Month, the MuseumsQuartier dedicates an entire evening to the LGBTQIA+ community with performances, drag and voguing shows. The MQ Summer Stage offers queer artists from Vienna a public space to express themselves artistically.
The MQ Pride Night is curated by the Vienna-based American artist Daniel Hill, who is also represented with a photo installation on the MQ forecourt that addresses queerness and the self-image of queer artists. Among those portrayed are Denise Palmieri, who will co-host the MQ Pride Night with Daniel Hill, and Danielle Pamp, who will start the evening with a performance.
Followed by another solo performance by artist Faris Cuchi. The Queer Art Collective Haus of Rausch stages drag shows. In the tradition of the ballroom from New York's Harlem district, the voguing collective Kiki House of Dive presents a dance choreography. The MQ Pride Night will close with a live DJ set by the duo Bicha Boo, consisting of Mzamo Nondlwana and Pêdra Costa, who was also portrayed by Daniel Hill. They play tracks by BIPoC (Black, Indigenous & People of Color) with a focus on women, trans and queer artists.
Almdudler provides refreshing cooling during the MQ Pride Night with its Pride Edition. The net proceeds from the bottles will go directly to the Homosexual Initiative (HOSI) Vienna.
