"The Atlas of Traditional Ukranian Housing from the middle of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century"" is a project that was to be carried out in the 1970s together with three academies of sciences from Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. In the 1990s, great efforts were made to continue the Ukrainian part under the leadership of architect and ethnographer Tamara Kosmina and the academic team, which included Oksana Kosmina - architect, historian, researcher of ethnology and material culture, Dmytro Vortman - cartographer, scientific editor of the "Encyclopedia of the History of Ukraine".
The publication of the atlas was finally abandoned by the Rylsky Institute of Art Studies, Folklore and Ethnology in Kyiv and the Institute of Folklore in Lviv due to its colossal size.
The atlas consists of a series of digital maps, texts and a visual block that includes architectural drawings, watercolors and photographs of the interiors and exteriors of buildings. Each of the thematic maps and visual representations is divided into separate time periods.
In the MQ Raum D the project will be presented for the first time and will be accompanied by a public discussion round in which AI technology and experts from the fields of architecture and cartography will take part:
