Sweet Susie is an artist, musician, DJ, cultural worker, art and culture mediator and board member of IG Kultur Wien. Her repertoire includes dub, jazz, experimental electronic music, funk, soul and hip hop.
Sweet Susie has been active worldwide as a DJ, electronic musician and sound artist since 1995. She has performed at many renowned festivals and clubs in Austria and internationally, such as the Donaufestival and Batofour in Paris.
She was co-organizer of the legendary Dub Club, a club night in Vienna's Flex that is known beyond Austria's borders. This took place on Mondays between 1995 and 2007 and was an internationally renowned institution not only for dub, but also for a wide variety of electronic music, where Mad Professor, The Bug, Africa Bambaataa and Kruder und Dorfmeister, among others, performed.
Her musical spectrum is very diverse and includes music for the dancefloor, experimental electronics, sound installations, theater music and political songs.
As a DJ, she takes the dancers on "journeys in sound" to different genres, times and cultures, with dub usually forming the musical basis.
She is currently working artistically at the interface between image and sound, exploring different living and social spaces, such as in the "United Workers" project.
