Lakni Prasanjali Kumarasiri & Transcultural Emancipation – Cocoon – Powerful Liberation
Mon 27.05.2024, 19h l MQ Summer Stage, Main Courtyard l Free entry
Unfortunately the performance of Lakni Prasanjali Kumarasiri has to be CANCELLED. Instead, the DJs from Fireflyclub, Musik Inklusiv will start at 7pm and play until around 8.30pm.
The cocoon, a symbol of metamorphosis, serves as a powerful allegory. By wrapping ourselves in lengths of fabric, we are confronted with the complexity of existence, the transitions we undergo, and the inevitable transformations that shape our being. An exploration of change and stasis that encourages us to reflect on our stages of growth and the cocoons in which we may be trapped. The cocoon will stretch across the MQ in various formations and choreographies.
Lakni Prasanjali Kumarasiri: “The pulse of my art is an innate curiosity about social performance, an area I have always been drawn to. I am fascinated not only by the obvious movements, sounds, and images, but by the often overlooked: the nuances of the body, the roles of the participants, and the vast, interconnected web of social dynamics.”

DJ-Acts. Fireflyclub, Musik Inklusiv
Monday 27.05.2024, 20 Uhr
The DJs from the Fireflyclub play a colorful musical mix from charts to techno and look forward to celebrating with you! The Firefly Club trains people with disabilities to become DJs and uses music as a means of inclusion to break down prejudices against disadvantaged people.
Free from exclusion, Fireflyclub wants to make it possible for people with and without disabilities to party together without fear. Firefly means firefly. The choice of this mascot is no coincidence. Fireflyclub shines a light into a world where it doesn't matter who you are.
The DJs conquered their audience with pulsating rhythms and rousing melodies. Visitors to the Firefly Club Party 2024 at the Kunstwerkstatt were immediately drawn to the dance floor.
