Fanni Futterknecht - Power to the Unspoken
Aftershow Satellite Program 2
In "Power to the Unspoken" Fanni Futterknecht elevates the act of scribbling to a form of protest that manifests itself in collective action in public space. Volunteer participants are invited to find their own abstract words and political messages that they want to communicate to the outside world by replacing words with scribbles. Participation is just as welcome as just watching.
The creation of the panels begins at 6.30 p.m. and the subsequent walk of around 20 minutes in the immediate vicinity starts at around 7 p.m. The entire act of manifestation is scheduled to take place between 6.30pm and 7.15pm.
"Power to the Unspoken" is a performative project exploring the relationship between writing, speaking and drawing. Dealing with social concepts such as individual and collective and their interaction, the project questions rhetoric in public space by analyzing the act of public manifestation for its potential for visual translation through the act of scribbling. Based on the idea of vocal expression, text is impulsively rendered into illegible drawings. In the project, the act of scribbling becomes a gesture of overwriting that opposes the abundance of words in a fragile society.
KUNSTZELLE is a project by Christine Baumann and Pablo Chiereghin
KUNSTZELLE goes MuseumsQuartier
The KUNSTZELLE is moving to the forecourt of the MuseumsQuartier for a year. As a former phone booth, its strength lies in publicity and communication. At its new location in front of the main entrance to the MQ, KUNSTZELLE will be showing three installations this year. The annual program is supplemented by a number of shorter interventions. The exhibitions are followed by "After Shows", short interventions from the fields of performing arts, participatory intervention, sound and visual arts. Its informal atmosphere makes the audience part of the after show. The square revives and opens up.
