Krõõt Juurak / PARASOL: SCHOOL

Learning is terrible.

Learning, unlearning, re-learning, training, teaching – in "SCHOOL", choreographer Krõõt Juurak and the PARASOL participants devote themselves to learning as an artistic and performative practice. Among other things, the dance group practices stand-up comedy and a notoriously complicated dance form: the Argentinian tango. A dance group is expected to dance, so what could be more natural than learning to tango?

With "SCHOOL", Krõõt Juurak focuses on the educational aspect of the PARASOL project where the given institutional setting and the performative research process are integral to the artistic result a.k.a. the performance. The relationship between learning and teaching, choreographing and dancing is also taken up in tango, where these roles are dealt with in a (micro-)performative way.
