For the past ten years, photographer Julia Lametta has been searching for, finding and collecting reflections of urban space in puddles for her series "Bodenschätze / Found on the Floor". Cropped by the size of the water surface, sharpened by the height of the water, framed by the floor covering, alienated images of the immediate surroundings are created. Even the slightest change in the viewing angle determines this image; the photographer plays with distance, perspective, natural light and the stubborn texture of the water. Julia Lametta provides an impetus for new perspectives on everyday paths and invites the viewers of "Bodenschätze" to search for themselves. The project led the photographer to explore the peculiarities of reflections on water surfaces, to examine the nature of the ground in urban spaces and ultimately to realise that puddles reflect nothing more than flaws in the ground surface. "A very beautiful mistake" emphasises the photographer, "the element of water makes visible the inability of man to want to level the earth".
