The Valeska Gert Museum is an imaginary museum that operates through a collection of performative acts related to the life and work of the German avant-garde artist Valeska Gert. In her extraordinary performance, whose stage version was highly acclaimed at the German Tanzplattform, Eszter Salamon und Boglàrka Börcsök are rethinking notions of memory and archive, and in empathy with Gert’s own migrating life, The Valeska Gert Museum uses the entire architecture of mumok; as a para-site it invades a hosting body. As the museum’s collection unfolds an archeological site emerges where the untraceable, the unheard and the unseen are re-hallucinated…
