theme tour: mixed up with others before we even start

With their installations, contemporary artists respond to works from the mumok collection and radically question the "purity" of the art historical canon. This exhibition tour is about hybrid forms, the immediate, the ambiguous, the "contaminating", and how gender and role attributions, colonial contexts, and even museum forms of selection and presentation can be subverted and rethought.
