Telemachos only knows his father Odysseus from the stories told to him by his mother Penelope. He left home shortly after his birth and has not been seen since. Penelope claims that Odysseus is a legend, has had strange adventures and has not yet returned home. Telemacho doesn't know what or how much to believe. Who is this Odysseus really? Where is he? Why hasn't he come back? The son is tormented by many questions. And so he finally sets off in search of him and encounters the Siren, Scylla and Charybdis, Polyphemus and other strange creatures.

Based on Homer's "Odyssey", the story is told from Telemachos' point of view. It is about autonomy and the question of what defines us. Are we free in our decisions or just the child of our parents? To what extent can we break away from our ancestors and go our own way? An opera for young people about growing up, self-discovery and self-determination.
