That's right: they are not necessarily one of man's favourite animals. Wolf Erlbruch's children's book uses tongue-in-cheek humour to tell the story of a group of outsiders who sink into self-pity. Until one day one of them comes along and says: It doesn't matter, just do something! On stage, the five find their own personal path to self-empowerment. They unpack their instruments, whistle, dance and sing about their wishes - from listeners with open ears and big hearts. And of thunderous applause in a pancake parlour with live music. Together with the five unloved creatures, the audience enters a space full of self-irony and self-love, in which everyone is cared for, in which everyone is valuable and right and allowed to participate. The play celebrates the beauty of ugliness, of being an outsider and the creativity that lies within us and allows us to experience connection with others.
