To get in the mood for the re:pair FESTIVAL 2024, festival director Tina Zickler and Christina Dörfler talk about the Japanese textile repair techniques Boro and Shashiko. Christina Dörfler is a lecturer at the KMD Herbstrasse and has been studying the Japanese culture of mending for a long time. Tina Zickler will report on her trip to Japan, where the culture of repair plays a very different role to that in Europe. She will give an outlook on the upcoming festival and explain which Sashiko workshops will take place and how everyone can take part in the participatory fashion show on 23 October 2024.
