"Alarmingly alive": Medardo Rosso - exhibition tour

Fri 18.10., 17.30 – 19h

Medardo Rosso (Turin, 1858 - Milan, 1928) was one of the great pioneers of modernism and is still considered an important reference figure for many artists today. He created a radically anti-monumental and deeply experimental oeuvre that explores the boundaries between media, materials and forms of presentation. In a tour of the exhibition, curator Heike Eipeldauer discusses with author Prof Jo Applin, co-curator and director of the Kunstmuseum Basel Elena Filipovic and artist Erin Shireff what makes Rosso's groundbreaking work so "alarmingly alive" (Phyllida Barlow) to this day.
