PITOUR
Collection F/W 2021/22 „SIMPLICITY“
Themes and silhouettes change – the basic attitude remains: Pitour stands for timelessness. Structured looks offer casual variations. Geometry and tectonics of the pieces are inspired by lines and precise volumes. The forms follow movements and twists. Atmospherically compressed, seams are interrupted and constructivistically assembled. The colourshades can be combined efficiently, but wild prints cannot be ruled out!
NELMIT BY NELI MITEWA - ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE Q21/MQ
„CULTURE CLASH“ is a fusion fashion capsule collection of the designer Neli Mitewa, inspired by a travel to South Africa where the designer discovers the breathtaking beauty of the nature in Cape Town and Cape of Good Hope, the picturesque port of Hout Bay and the bright colors of Bo Kaap. Going back, she takes some original South African textiles with her, containing the typical wax printed naïve, stylized floral and geometrical drawings and motifs in strong color contrasts.
Back in Bulgaria, she decides to mix them with hand-woven and embroidered textiles: aprons, tablecloths, pillows, ribbons with the typical Bulgarian national folklore motifs she inherited from her grandmother.
Thus, the first part of the collection consists of design models based on the designer´s own modeling technique. The dresses combine on the one hand the original fabrics with authentic African patterns, on the other hand draped / folded parts of authentic knitted, woven or embroidered Bulgarian fabrics, as well as additional materials such as leather, modern stripes, pleats etc. to achieve a complete fusion vision.
The second part contains dresses made of especially designed original author´s patterns created by the textile designer Dinka Kasabova. Inspirational photos from iconic landscapes in South Africa form the background of the pattern, and the motifs recall the authentic naive stylized spirit, intertwining floral African with stylized Bulgarian geometric motifs. Macro images alternate with micro ones, there are strong enlargements of one motif, decays in a small pattern and repetitions, by themselves or in a mix.
The authentic designer jewelry is made in accordance to the designer´s outfits by jeweler Velislava Bozhinova.
