Political Futures Talk with Mirjam Zadoff

Since February 2018 the discursive series "Political Futures" at Kunsthalle Wien has been discussing the role of the future between the poles of art and politics together with international participants. For the last talk in the series, Nicolaus Schafhausen has invited Mirjam Zadoff, who since May 2018, as director of the NS Documentation Center Munich, is responsible for the exhibition, event and educational program there.

Mirjam Zadoff (*1974 in Innsbruck, Austria) studied History and Jewish Studies at the University of Vienna and Modern and Contemporary History in Munich (doctorate 2006, habilitation 2013). She was a private lecturer at the Institute for Jewish History and Culture of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and 2014-2018 holder of the Alvin H. Rosenfeld Chair for Jewish Studies at Indiana University in Bloomington, USA. Her research and teaching activities, which have taken her to Jerusalem, London, Berlin, Berkeley, Zurich and Augsburg, have focused on Jewish history and culture as well as Holocaust studies. Her book "Nächstes Jahr in Marienbad" has won several awards. For "Der rote Hiob. Das Leben des Werner Scholem" she received the Fraenkel Prize in Contemporary History in 2014.
