Silvia Hoanzl: „NOW“

Silvia Hoanzl shows her new series "NOW", abstract, large-scale watercolors on handmade paper. Her approach is purely intuitive and therefore the concept is not to have a plan or a default before she starts with a painting.

"On the contrary - I make myself inwardly as free as possible, and then from this free space, what may arise, what pushes outward, give a form."

Inspirations are often color compositions from nature or something that catches her eye from everyday life and binds her attention in a very special way. She then chooses the colors, sometimes quite intuitively. They flow into each other with a lot of water, thus creating a moment, captured on paper, which in turn gives rise to the next impulse or the next active action. Colors flow, colors are poured, watercolor pencils or watercolor chalk set accents, ink finds its place, a fineliner forms lines in each other and over the whole paper. This goes on until it becomes quiet inside the artist. Nothing more needs a change or an addition - the picture is finished. Exactly the same is life, the moment NOW is the basis of the moment that follows. As with a magnifying glass, the viewer can look into the inner world of Silvia Hoanzl. Each of these moments is very unique and special in a certain way. This energy is captured and held in the painting. It flows into the painting process and gives it the individual intensity and uniqueness.
