Thomas Sørlie Hansen: Pictures of Death

«Pictures of Death» is an hommage to Hans Holbein t. y.’s inventive Totentanz from 1538, but also refers to other works in the same tradition. The personified Death is rediscovered at the «Lost and Found» and is let loose into the modern world through a series of miniature drawings in the same size as Holbein’s woodcut originals. Thomas Sørlie Hansen is a Norwegian comics-artist from Trondheim. Thomas will be Artist-in-Residence in MuseumsQuartier Wien in May 2020, invited by KABINETTpassage.
