Spaceship Earth

Against the dark and calm expanse of the universe, our earthly things look both insignificant and incredibly valuable. Previous perspectives have also faded in this large-format image. No longer the center as we knew it in the geocentric model, Earth now rotates as a fragile spaceship in the universe. Katrin Plavčak has opted for collages that keep the range between the largest and the smallest things open by way of montages showing the fascinating diversity of life and a vulnerable physcality. As astronauts aboard Spaceshipe Earth, we should treat our resources diligently and responsibly. Earth has no escape pod.
