Since 2000, I have been working on three-dimensional drawings. I have reconstructed objects and entire areas of our everyday life at a scale of 1:1 in my Wire Sculptures, as e.g. The Kitchen, The Truck (14:30), The Escalator. But I also have made cult objects and works of art a subject of my work: in 1972 it was a sculpture by Fritz Wotruba at streetcar route no. 2 in Vienna made of cardboard. For the ART BOX I focused on Constantin Brancusi’s Endless Column from 1917 as well as Martin Kippenberger’s lantern for die DOCUMENTA IX in 1992.
Fritz Panzer (*1945 in Judenburg) has studied at the Academy for Fine Arts Vienna at the master classes of Albert Paris Gütersloh, Josef Mikl and Wolfgang Hollegha. The artist lives and works in Vienna.
