Jan Arnold gallery presents a solo show by artist Simonas Kuliešis in cooperation with SHCH Gallery.

At his previous show "Contemporary View Landscape" (SHCH gallery Vilnius, Lithuania 2016) the artist presented paintings of ideological and visual structures – an approach of modern perception he constantly develops and refines through his art. The exhibition is an attempt to show modern community's confrontation with nature, urban environment and landscapes, in terms of the fact that general perception already is affected through commercialised design, advertisment and technology. Natural forms in the perceiver’s consciousness steadily transform into new artificial ideas constantly changing reality.

„Social Bricks Landscape“ deals with the artist's social surrounding and is the result of research transformed into painting. „Each person is a brick of a social building“ he says and „society is not only housed in actual buildings but also a social construct“. The artist expresses „Invisible structures“ of „social bricks“ in his paintings creating a landscape. The exhibition will be accompanied through a soundtrack the artist recorded on art events, and will layer social activity at the exhibition site.
