Exemplary objects speak about the complicity between architecture and changing power relations in the transformation of Johann Wolfgang Goethe-university in Frankfurt: the university changed from a castle-like citizens' university of the German Empire to a modernist mass university, including the Frankfurt School, to neoliberal “Clusters of Excellence”.

Sabine Bitter & Helmut Weber, based in Vancouver and Vienna, have worked on projects addressing cities, architecture, and the politics of representation and of space since 1994.
