On the occasion of supposed vacancy, the EIKON Schaufenster, presentation space for photography and media art, will show frames without content.  These (photo-)frames offer the possibility to establish a complex reference system between presentation space, exhibition space and the observed object: on the one hand it refers to UNFRAMED (9.9.2014 – 19.9.2014, Galerie Raum mit Licht), whose purpose was to make art accessible directly, unframed. On the other hand the empty spaces invite the observer to create his own reference points: they ask him to put the elements in relationship to one another, since the latter is not revealed from the outset. Last but not least it is about active interaction, through which the small-scale surrogate of the Edition EIKON jumps into its intended edition.

About the Edition EIKON
The Edition EIKON exists since the year 1995 and has defined its objective to present the works of renowned as well as new-comer artists in exclusive Fotoeditions for affordable prices. The selection is not only based on value, making already established artists and their works available, but the goal is also to support young talents. The original hand-designed and numbered photos are produced in series of a maximum of 30 pieces, thus offering the possibility of a continuous increase in value.
