Momoko Seto: PORN LIKE SEAFOOD

Momoko Seto was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1980. She studied at the Lycée Français in Tokyo, at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Marseille, at the California College of Arts in San Franciso and at the Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains in Tourcoing/France. As a filmmaker she worked for the Asia Network (Réseau Asie, CNRS). Seto lives and works in Paris and Tokyo.

She began making short and documentary films for CNRS. Seto then made hybrid films that span several genres, in which she transferred everyday objects to a unique poetic universe - for example in her experimental animations PLANET A and PLANET Z as well as her Seafood Porn Videos. Her films were shown and awarded at numerous film festivals such as Berlinale, Rotterdam Film Festival or at the Locarno Film Festival.

As q21-Artist-in-Residence, Momoko Seto will arrange an exhibition at ASIFAKEIL, take part in this year's MQ-Summer Opening, produce her new film and will participate in this year's VIS Vienna Independent Shorts festival with selected films.
