With his choreographic works on the relationship between the body and city space Willi Dorner has already guest-starred worldwide in artistic and urban contexts. Between performance and installation, fitting continues these explorations against the background of increasing limitations and changes in our cities: How can one make urban spaces experienceable? How is the city changing, how are its inhabitants reacting to that and to what extent can these transformations be influenced?

fitting intervenes in the urban landscape performatively, connects with it and constructs in it. In ever new acts of assembling and analysis, the dancers show the course of events of the manufacturing of (city) space and appropriate it. In the process, with the resulting temporary installations they not only challenge the conception of public space as a formation available for building and the construction principles of stability, symmetry and straightness. Rather they multiply the ordering principles that underlie (city) architecture and create the opportunity also to rediscover our perspectives of familiar public space.
