The choreographer Lucia Glass from Hamburg creates her third opus, SENSATION – a piece about the interaction of body and fashion, in which she playfully investigates the performative potential of clothing articles, as well as the physical sensations created when wearing different fabrics and certain cuts. The performance deals with how an outfit influences its bearer’s movements. Apart from that, it investigates how body movement can control the garment’s choreography. The artist develops her show in collaboration with professional runway models. International fashion designers show parts of their collections. As opposed to the classical runway show, the models are actively involved in the artistic work process during the development of this production. Moreover, Lucia Glass confronts the participating designers’ fashion with the elements, e.g., water, wind, and heat.

Content, themes and strategies of her works often are created in connection with other artistic fields such as film, photography, visual art, and fashion. She collaborates with other artists, and since 2009 has realised several choreographic projects with children and adolescents. After finishing her studies at the European Dance Development Centre (1997–2001 in Arnhem/NL), between 2003 and 2008 she worked as a dancer with several internationally touring choreographers (Eszter Salamon, Thomas Lehmen, Mette Ingvartsen) while living in Berlin. At the same time, she created first pieces of her own. In 2008 she received a scholarship at K3 – Choreographic Centre Hamburg. Further scholarships and commissions took her to countries like Singapore and the Republic of Moldavia.
