New Media Arts as \"artistic research and development\" between artistic, medial and techno-scientific discourses is research-based and practice-led. It does not produce \"final products\" but \"process artefacts\". The Artistic Research Technology Lab researches and develops contemporary art/tech projects on the intersections of technical feasability, media literacy, social-criticism and interventions with new media.

Besides the question on how new media systems change the society, a contemporary praxis of creating (post-)digital art that is technology-aware and focusses on empowering technologies is illustrated with exhibitions, presentations and workshops. In cooperation with theoreticians, technology experts and contemporary artists, a diverse programme is shown in the MuseumsQuartier Vienna, curated by Matthias Tarasiewicz in cooperation with national and international artistic researchers.
