A girl is driven out of her apartment in the slums. Her parents are probably dead, her uncle has deserted her. The girl is sliding from one dismal situation to another, but there\'s one important aspect that makes a difference: she found friends who bring her into a large extended family and give her the name \"Kiwi.\"

In this touching and poetic tale, author Daniel Danis uses monologues to relate the story of a homeless gang of kids who are barely tolerated at the fringe of society. Indefatigably they fight their way ahead, never losing their optimism and always treating each other with love and kindness. You want them to make it, but when a terrible disaster happens to Kiwi and her partner Litchi they put themselves and the others in grave danger. Can the dream they share still come true in the end?
