Every year in spring, VIS Vienna Independent Shorts compiles a selection of the best recent short films. Because these little gems are definitely worth seeing more than once, the international short film festival sends its prize-winning films on a tour of Austria in the fall. In Vienna, VIS on Tour will make a stop at the MQ. The selection will include the winning films from the various categories chosen for jury and audience prizes in connection with the 2011 festival.
The main prize is the Vienna Short Film Prize endowed by the City of Vienna, awarded to the best short feature or documentary film in an international competition. Fans of experimental animation will not be disappointed either, since the world\'s best short in this increasingly important genre will also be represented. VIS awards its own prizes for Austrian short filmmakers. VIS on Tour gives you an opportunity to see for yourself why these films deserve to be winners.
