In the context of the MQ\'s focus on Europe, the experimental architecture forum attempts to introduce three old Austrian cities that used to be important as vital cultural centers. Local alternative culture initiatives, architects, and artists join forces to create a collective image of the former Eastern Bloc cities on the brink of a European future. The event takes place in the Staatsratshof courtyard and fea\'s space in quartier21. One of the towns is Ostrau. Before the term Eastern Bloc was invented, people in the imperial city of Vienna called the town Mährisch-Ostrau. Adolf Loos criticized the Ringstrasse boulevard as a \"five-storied Mährisch-Ostrau\" and when cabaret artists Helmut Qualtinger and Peter Wehle mimed two legendary but failed Austrian actors, they derisively recalled their world successes in Mährisch-Ostrau.
