Performance evening of the Artists-in-Residence at Tanzquartier Wien

Date:
Wed, Apr 27, 19:00
Venue: TQW / Studios

The three choreografers and performers Aneta Stojnic, Bahar Temiz and Violeta Vitanova will close their two-month-residency at Tanzquartier Wien - in cooperation with KulturKontakt Austria - by showing their current works.

In her cyberperformance Sex on Trains (and Rights of Lefthanders): Reloaded, Aneta Stojni? explores the relationship between \"real\" and \"virtual\" reality. What emerges when fragments of an intimate (cyber) life are re-staged in a performative situation - Digital melodrama, textual pornography, emotional exhibitionism, theoretical performance, or . . .?

The movement material for Bahar Temiz\'s performance 1+ emerged from the work for a group work. In the form of a solo and dealing with her own (dancer\'s) body, she now dedicates herself to the resonances of the absent performers and the question of how the space as well as the movement material of the other can be made visible in their absence and simultaneity.

BACK][UP is attempting to literally shed light on the least visible part of the human body - the back - both in the anatomical and psychological sense. In revealing its distinct sculptural ánd visual qualities in motion, Violeta Vitanova explores its fragmented boundaries and its potential of alienation. In a sense the back is the Other of our very bodies. The performance by Violeta Vitanova, which was initiated together with Stanislav Genadiev, is presented in the installation LUMEN by Stefanie Wilhelm.
