In recent years Hiroaki Umeda has made a name for himself internationally with his works at the intersections of visuality and sensual experience. Whether in the confrontation of highest choreographic precision and dramatic play with our perception of time, as in while going to a condition, or of the minimalist language of movement and the technique of hip hop: in his works the Japanese choreographer and media artist Hiroaki Umeda creates intensive stage spaces that emerge in the in-between of choreography, sound, image and lighting design.
