Following the dictum of current online events, the new creation Talking Head by the performance group Liquid Loft around the choreographer Chris Haring is now placing its absurd characters into the twittertubeandfacebook box. But the performers neither obey the apparatus nor are they trapped in constant refractoriness. Rather they move in between, outside the structure. They are in a state of permanent simulation, in mutual imitation.

The phrase Talking Head is not only reminiscent of one of the most successful new wave bands of the 1980s but also of the \"box setting\" of a camera close-up. Drawing on Cinema Vérite, the self-promoter here stages himself in empty prattle, the serious reporter in the newsroom or the artist about his work. If the body loses its consistency in the process, smashes its virtual image and lives from the masquerade that accompanies its personal fate at every turn, then, it is a matter of- freely after the media philosopher Villem Flusser -getting wise to the tricks of the apparatus and attempt to risk playing its pigheaded absurdity against itself.
