Kontakthof is a place where you meet
to find contact.
Show yourself, refuse.
With fears. With desires.
Disappointments. Despairs.
First experiences. First attempts.

(Pina Bausch)

Kontakthof is a meeting place, a place of elementary human feelings. In the empty ballroom, designed by Rolf Borzik, Pina Bausch observes and explores her protagonists and develops her poetic and powerful image and movement language, which has made her one of the most influential international choreographers of the 20th century. Kontakthof has already been premièred, in 1978 by the Tanztheater Wuppertal, and in November 2008 had a première in the version For Teenagers Over \'14\', in which 26 young people contribute their very own experiences and tell stories of approaches and affection, of injuries and rejection. \'It is a world theatre that does not lecture or know better, but produces the experiences: happy or sad, gentle or confrontational, but always funny and bizarre.\' (Norbert Servos)
