Eröffnung Winter im MQ
LEISURE & OUTDOOR
Opening
Thu, November 16, 2006, 6:30 pm
6:30 pm Karandila live
Prince Metternich supposedly once said that the Balkans begin on Rennweg, an avenue in Vienna’s 3rd district. But this winter, the Balkans are right here in the MQ.
The Gypsy brass orchestra Karandila is coming to Vienna for the opening of Winter in the MQ to raise a storm with its wildly raucous ethnic music. Alongside Boban Markovic and Fanfare Ciocarlia, Karandila are considered one of the hottest acts in the orchestra wave. They blend traditional Balkan wedding music with a vortex of frenzied, improvised jazz elements to create an expressive experience of oriental tradition.
7:45 pm Cool Kids Performance with DSCHUNGEL WIEN Artists
As part of the children’s program in Winter in the MQ, performance artists Adriana Cubides and Raul Maia provide playful winter entertainment with indoor and outdoor activities in the MQ courtyards and in DSCHUNGEL WIEN.
